Corporate Profile

Introduction

The Business Centre Company Profile The Business Centre was originally founded in December of 2005 and has been in the business of providing fully furnished, serviced offices to businesses of various sizes for over 6 years.

Our philosophy is that running a business is challenging and complex. Once combined with the day-to-day administrative demands, and internal support, management and maintenance requirements, (staffing, cleaning, call answering), running a business becomes even more daunting.

If there was a way that running a business meant simply focusing on what it does well, leaving the infrastructural support requirements to a partner who specialised in this, then running a business brings with it the potential of becoming easier and more successful.

The Business Centre, is that partner.

Who is The Business Centre

The Business CentreHistory – Founded by 3 separate business owners Andrew Utterson, Travers Hathrill and Ceri James, in 2005, from the need to fill excess office capacity, we very quickly realised that there was a massive demand for not only office space, but office space that brought with it, a host of various services. These services started off with the basics of a receptionist, boardrooms, and phones, and would ultimately grow into a business that offers the widest selection of service options on demand.

Present Day – Today The Business Centre owns, manages and runs 3 centres in the northen suburbs of Johannesburg, South Africa. With a combined Gross Lettable Area (GLA) of 12400sqm and 332 individual offices under management. This will further grow this year in April when we open our Umhlanga centre (140 offices), and again in November with the opening of the Broadacres centre (93 offices), to a total GLA of 18500sqm and 565 individual offices, making us the single largest serviced office company in South Africa.

  • The Business CentreIn addition to this, The Business Centre employs a dynamic staff compliment across a broad category range, with everyone from office cleaners to an Executive Committee, currently totaling in excess of 70 key personnel.
  • Our broad service range includes a wide selection of services for business owners to choose from, but above all, The Business Centre prides itself in the highest level of cutting edge, reliable technology. It is this technology that firstly underpins the backbone of The Business Centre, and secondly supports our ever-expanding customer base. From simple email and internet connectivity, to more complex server hosting, data management, backups and virtual private networks (VPN), all run from within the framework of each Business Centre, and its secure server room.
  • Coupled with the technology offering, The Business Centre further prides itself in its accuracy, and ability to report real-time. This is done through the assistance of our live, online customer relationship management (CRM), sales and billing engine ‘Business Operating System’ or B.OS for short. B.OS gives customers a real-time view into their account, as well as live itemized billing once invoiced. Not only is B.OS the core billing system, but through it, we are able to integrate a variety of external systems, namely access control, point of sale, boardroom usage, and beverage and peripheral consumption. Through the utilization of B.OS, we are able to keep an accurate handle on all stock, while being able to invoice the client correctly at all times.
